House Rules

We want you to enjoy your experience with us & have a few house rules we would like to share for your safety & those around you.

By entering the sauna you agree to the following…

General Conditions

We want you to enjoy your experience with us & have a few house rules we would like to share for your safety & those around you.

• When making a booking on behalf of a group, it is your responsibility to ensure all members are aware of our terms & conditions and to practice safe sauna use at all times.

• Everyone using the sauna does so at their own risk. If you’re dealing with any health concerns; like medical conditions, medications, pregnancy, or anything else you’re unsure about, it’s a good idea to check in with your GP before booking.

• Please take off any jewellery before joining us — metal jewellery can heat up quickly & cause burns.

• Children under 16 can’t use the sauna & those aged 16–17 can only join private sessions with a responsible adult, staying with them the whole time.

• Be mindful of hot surfaces, slippery spots & sudden temperature changes. Take your time when getting in and out of the sauna; there’s no rush!

• For everyone’s comfort & safety, alcohol, nudity & smoking aren’t allowed in the sauna. We may refuse entry to anyone who seems intoxicated or could pose a safety risk & we’re not able to offer refunds in those situations.

• Any personal items you bring are your responsibility. We suggest leaving valuables at home or safely stored in your car.

• There are steps leading into the sauna, so please watch your footing as you enter and exit.

Sauna Etiquette

To help everyone have a safe & relaxing time, here’s a quick guide to sauna etiquette:

• Give your feet a quick wash in the foot-wash provided before you head inside. (This helps to protect the wood from unnecessary sand & dirt)
• Always sit on a towel while you’re in the sauna; it keeps things comfy & hygienic for everyone.
• Keep each session to 20 minutes or less (most people find 5–15 minutes just right) & repeat.

• Taking regular breaks to cool down & hyrdrate improves the experience.
• When using the sauna stove, pour the water gently.  Think drizzle, not splash & please, only use the water we’ve supplied.
• Please don’t touch the stove at any point; it gets seriously hot.
• Take your time entering and leaving the sauna so you stay steady & safe.
• Keep doorways & access areas clear so everyone can move freely, especially in an emergency.
• We operate in a small footprint, so please arrive changed & ready within your booking slot.
• Give yourself a quick rinse under a cold-water bucket or take a sea dip prior to entering/leaving.

Showers & changing areas are available in the nearby public toilet facilities

Health & Safety

Please avoid using the sauna if you:

• Have high or low blood pressure, heart or circulation issues, epilepsy, or diabetes.
• Are pregnant.
• Tend to experience dizziness or fainting.

• Or have had a previous issue while using a sauna.

If you’re at all unsure about whether the sauna is safe for you, it’s best to check in with a healthcare professional before booking. Your wellbeing comes first.

Sea & Cold water use

Anyone choosing to use the sea or cold bucket shower, does so at their own risk.  Please make sure you’re confident in your swimming ability & comfortable handling cold temperatures & natural currents before taking the plunge.  The strand is not always serviced by lifeguards & we advise to never enter alone; if you do so - it’s at your own risk.

How We Handle Refunds & Cancellations

At Inishkeel Sauna, we want your experience to feel easy, enjoyable & stress-free. To help with that, here’s a breakdown of our refund policy:

Cancellations by Us
If we ever need to cancel a booking (which is very rare), we’ll get in touch by email or phone & issue a full refund.

Cancellations/Reschedule by You
You’re welcome to cancel (preferably reschedule) your session up to 12 hours in advance. Just reach out via our online booking system. Please note: cancellations made within 12 hours of your session are non-refundable.

No Shows
We’re unable to offer refunds for missed appointments; please make sure you arrive on time for your session.

Refusal of Admission
For everyone’s safety, we may refuse admission if someone appears intoxicated or poses a health or safety risk. In these situations, refunds aren’t available.

Event Cancellations
Private event cancellations depend on the size and details of the event. We’ll agree on the specific terms with you at the time of booking. Policies may vary based on guest numbers & services included; cancellations closer to the event date may incur a fee.  All of this will be clearly outlined ahead of time.

By booking with Inishkeel Sauna, you’re agreeing to these terms.

Refusal of Service Policy

The Inishkeel Sauna team may refuse admission if there are any health or safety concerns, this can include things like intoxication, inappropriate behaviour, or anything else that could put you or others at risk.

If admission is refused for these reasons, we’re not able to offer refunds.
