Sauna Essentials

How to Sauna:

Rinse – Begin with a quick sea dip or bucket shower to refresh your skin before stepping into the sauna.

Hot – Head inside, sit on your towel, and relax for 5–15 minutes while your body warms up.

Cold – After your heat session, enjoy a bucket shower or sea dip. It’s an amazing way to wake up your system and tighten your pores.

Rest – Take a few minutes to chill out & let your body settle back to a comfortable rhythm.

& Repeat

Pro Tip: Keep an eye on your heart rate as you move through each stage. You’ll feel it rise in the heat, jump a little during the cold, and then slow down again as you rest. When your heart rate returns to its normal resting pace, you’re ready for another round in the sauna.

What to bring/arrive

To help you get the most out of your sauna session, we recommend bringing:

• Comfortable swimwear

• Towels.  One to sit on & one to dry off with.  (Towels are available to hire if forgotten)
• A water bottle to keep yourself hydrated throughout your visit.

• Flip-flops or sandals so you can move around the area safely and comfortably.  (Please note that footware is to be left outside the sauna to benefit everyone & protect the wood surface).
• Optional: a cosy robe if you like that post-sauna luxury.
• Warm clothes for afterward — stepping out of the heat can feel chilly, so it’s nice to wrap up slowly.  We recommend a post sauna hot chocolate or bite to eat at one of our wonderful locals; The Paddock Coffee Shop or Pirates Of The Coffeebean.

• Please arrive 10 to 15 minutes before your booking to allow time for a quick briefing & to get changed if necessary (we recommend arriving in your swimwear).

Opening times & bookings:

• Our opening times are fluid; generally weekends, full moons & special evenings.  Check our booking page & socials for real time updates.  If in doubt, reach out via WhatsApp or Email.

• Bookings are only via our online portal (we don’t accept via social media since we may miss your message); we do accept walk-ins where possible, as well as cash payment but allow a little extra time for waivers/paperwork.  Feel free to reach out for private or special booking requests.  We’re happy to help where possible.

What facilities are there?

Please note that facilities at our location are rustic & limited, so it’s best to arrive already dressed for your sauna session where possible. For ease & safety, we also recommend removing any jewellery at home before you come along.  We don’t have changing rooms or a dedicated storage area, so please keep valuables at home or safely in your car..  The sauna does have hooks where you can hang your robe & towels during your session.

Public toilets facilities are available nearby, & are generally open during our operating hours.  There is also an external shower available that’s used by local swimmers/surfers.

Who can Sauna?

We want our sauna experience to be as inclusive & accessible as possible. That said, there are a couple of important limits to keep everyone safe & comfortable:

Age restriction: Our saunas are for guests aged 16 and over. 16-17 with private sessions with a responsible adult, staying with them the whole time.

Health considerations: If you’re pregnant or have any health concerns, please check in with your GP before booking.  You’ll also find more details and guidance in our Terms & Conditions, so it’s worth giving those a quick read before you reserve your session.

Come rain or shine?

We’re open throughout the year & in all kinds of weather.  A little rain even adds to that warm, snug sauna atmosphere. The only exceptions are high winds or thunderstorms/lightning; in which case we’ll need to pause sessions.  If the weather calls for a change of plans, we’ll let you know as soon as possible.

Since facilities & shelter are limited at our location, we recommend dressing with the weather in mind so you stay comfortable before & after your session.
